Dejah Makar is a Danish-Egyptian singer, songwriter, rapper, composer, and performance artist whose work bridges cultures and genres. Raised in Copenhagen, she developed a deep passion for music and Egyptian belly dance, drawing heavily on her rich Coptic Egyptian heritage. This multicultural background shapes her distinctive sound, which she describes as “Global Baladi”—a modern, boundary-defying musical universe that blends global influences with a uniquely Egyptian sensibility and presence.
Her debut single, “Bratty,” was released in 2021, followed by the EP HEKA. In early 2023, she dropped a series of singles—“EMOTIONAL GANGSTRESS,” “DI DI DIVA,” “GOT IT BAD,” and “VIRAGO”—culminating in her debut mixtape, THE REAL NEFERTITI, released on June 2, 2023, just ahead of her Roskilde Festival debut later that month.
