DEKODA is a bedroom pop duo hailing from the capital of procrastination (Berlin, Germany). This is probably, why it took them 3 years to write, record and self-release their new EP FLAMINGO. First drafting ideas on a getaway to a cabin in Brandenburg back in 2016, the short player combines the strengths of the two members Marius (Guitar, Vocals) and Christoph (Bass, Keys): distinct bass lines, dreamy textures and abstract poetry.
The EPs highlight PALAU is a haunting ballad whose modern production takes nothing away from the intimacy of the song. The opener GUACAMOLE AIRLINES heads into the opposite direction, carried by a hypnotic beat, a cathartic chorus and an unexpected shift towards the outro. Produced by the duo and Ben Esser (Blvth, Noah Slee) FLAMINGO showcases DEKODAs talent between beat-driven arrangements, dynamic songwriting and urban melancholia. Afterall, it is a hommage to their hometown, that influenced and delayed FLAMINGO year after year but eventually made it come to life.
