Founded in Montpellier in 2018 by guitarist and composer Denis Navarro, Deleo explores a sonic universe oscillating between post-punk, new wave, and raw emotional rock. Early collaborations with legendary producer James Sanger (Keane, U2) helped shape their initial sound. But it’s with the arrival of Émilie Domergue on vocals — a magnetic, punk-charged, queer performer — and Philippe Uminski on programming, that the band found its true sound.
At the heart of Deleo is a duality: Denis, the architect of introspective soundscapes, and Émilie, the electric frontwoman who turns every track into a live-wire performance. Together, they create a sound defined by contrast, tension, and a refusal to smooth the edges.
Their debut album "The Best is Yet To Be" (2023) earned praise from Oui FM, Radio France and independent tastemakers alike. Since then, Deleo has focused on refining their identity, playing shows across France and embracing a bolder, more visceral approach.
In 2025, Deleo returns with their most ambitious release yet : If This World Were Mine (out November 14, on Made It Records / Licence La Couveuse), a 6-track EP produced by Philippe Uminski, recorded in the south of France, and mixed to retain the raw energy of a band built for the stage.
Deleo will tour in support of the EP, with shows already confirmed in Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Caen, Angers, Montpellier, Lille and Perpignan and more.
