Dubbed as “gloriously out of step with the rest of Scottish music”, Delta Mainline’s unique blend of dream pop, shoegaze, psychedelia-infused garage rock and hypnotic soundscapes has brought the Edinburgh seven-piece invitations to perform with Moon Duo, Micah P. Hinson, Jane Weaver, Elephant Stone, The Warlocks and The Telescopes.
Debut single “Vultures” - mastered by Geoff Pesche (Aphex Twin, Blur) at Abbey Road - included remixes by Miaoux Miaoux & Remember Remember and was licensed to Action for Children, premiering in their 2016 campaign on Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage.
Debut LP “Oh! Enlightened” was released via Rehab Sound (UK) & Halcyon Records (N America) to unanimous critical acclaim - notably from Uncut, Q Magazine, Artrocker and The Scotsman. Recorded at Chem19 and mastered at Universal Canada, it’s an album rich with texture and healthy doses of psychedelia. The band celebrated with a UK headline tour and BBC live session with Vic Galloway. Further radio included Lauren Laverne on BBC 6Music.
Previously, Delta Mainline were showcased amongst “the cream of the guitar-based psychedelia-influenced crop” (Drowned in Sound) on ‘Strung Out Vol. 1’ with Caribou and The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Delta Mainline’s follow-up second album, recorded over four years and mixed by Paul Savage, was launched in May 2019.
