Deon Valor

Born in 1990, married to the best wife, love music, creating music, coffee and cycling.
I live in Paarl but grew up in Bredasdorp where I was given loads of opportunities to learn to
play the drums at the age of 6, guitar at the age of 10 and singing I have been doing for as far as
I can remember.
At the age of 12 I started my first band and we played together till 2008. After we matriculated,
we split up.
I never stopped making music, but never had the guts to try doing a solo act until one day in
2015 my wife entered me into a talent competition, and I reached semi-finals. That was the confidence builder I needed.
In 2017 my stage name Deon Valor was established.
My music style is mainly acoustic, singer/songwriter style. I perform with an acoustic guitar and a loop station. One of the things I enjoy the most during my performances is building the live loops for my own songs and the songs I cover.
Some artists that have a huge influence in my music is Ed Sheeran and Ryan Tedder (One
Republic). They are in my eyes two of the best song writers ever and Ed is just insane on the
guitar!
