Depthcruiser is the sonic alter ego of sound designer Søndæy, born from the depths of musical exploration and profoundly influenced by the visionary world of Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and the mesmerizing underwater expeditions of Jacques Cousteau.

Blending deep-textured rhythms with submarine mystique and dub-influenced minimalism, Depthcruiser crafts immersive soundscapes that transcend conventional electronic music. His compositions evoke the eerie stillness of the ocean floor, sonar pulses in pressure chambers, and the quiet poetry of submerged worlds.

His sonic journey began in 2013, with releases on respected labels such as Telrae/TRAUM (Germany) and State of Bass (UK). Originally conceived as an ambient dub techno project, Depthcruiser’s sound has since evolved through the full spectrum of electronic expression - touching the edges of avant-garde and experimental - immersing you not only into the depths of ocean but also into the infinite space and the universe.

After several rotations around the sun, by 2025, Søndæy realized that Depthcruiser no longer reflected the evolution of his artistic identity or the direction of his creative journey. Embracing this shift, he adopted a new nom de guerre — less. — and returned to the dub techno roots that first propelled his sound into the deep. Now, he merges the warmth of analog gear with the precision of digital technology, crafting a refined sonic palette where minimalism meets abstract aesthetics.
