Derek Martin is a singer/songwriter from Ayrshire, Scotland. In early 2018, he picked up a guitar that lay dormant for 15 years, started to play and a fire was ignited.
What followed was an outpouring of songs full of emotion and spirit about love, friendship, joy, sadness, escapism, nostalgia and daydreaming - the soundtrack to the life we are all living in.
Over 4 recording sessions throughout 2018 Derek recorded 10 tracks which would become the debut album Dreaming Out Loud. From the blistering Life in a Minor Key, the anthemic Calm Before the Storm to the heartfelt lullaby, Nightingale, the album is full of anthems and ready to be heard by you.
