Derlis Ariel Gonzalez is a Paraguayan film composer. Known for composing distinctly recognizable and highly- tailored themes, his technical and artistic approach to film music - creating film scores that have a unique musical identity for the story- has lead him to recognition for his work throughout the Americas.

As the recipient of the prestigious full Bell Scholarship, Derlis attended Mount Allison University in New Brunswick, Canada, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition. There, he co-founded the Mount Allison New Music Ensemble, composed pieces that were performed at Mount Allison concerts, and conducted the university orchestra.

Prior to his university studies, Derlis undertook four years at the National Conservatory of Music in Paraguay, studying Music Theory and History under Sonia Valiente and Classical Guitar under Tania Ramos. In addition to his time at the Conservatory, Derlis studied intensively for two years as a private student under renowned composer, conductor and music educator Jose Luis Miranda, who also taught and mentored the likes of OSCA conductor and Sonidos de la Tierra founder Luis Szaran, and composer and Irvine Valley College professor Daniel Luzko.
