Derrell Dukes is a singer, songwriter, producer, music director, live sound engineer, and multi-instrumentalist from Greensboro, North Carolina. Influenced by Gospel, R&B, Soul, and Jazz, he has spent more than 25 years creating music that inspires through faith, excellence, and heartfelt storytelling.
Derrell first gained national recognition in 2007 as a featured artist on "It's All Good" by Todd Curry & Focus. In 2014, he debuted as a solo artist with "You're Always There," earning 2015 Rhythm of Gospel Award nominations for Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year and Alternative Christian Song of the Year.
In 2020, he released "I'm Moving," leading to his debut gospel album, The Shift (2021). He later expanded his musical vision with the According To Jazz series, transforming songs from The Shift into smooth contemporary jazz instrumentals.
Now, Derrell returns with his third album, According To Jazz, Vol. 2, releasing August 28, 2026. The project is introduced by two singles: "Joyful Noise" (July 31, 2026) and "Thank You So Much" (August 14, 2026). As the final chapter of the According To Jazz series, the album celebrates his gospel roots, contemporary jazz artistry, and a lifelong commitment to creating music that uplifts and inspires audiences worldwide.
