Andre Smith better known as DesignerFlow was born in Louisville, Kentucky-
spending the bulk of his adolescent days in the Beecher Terrace and Parkway Place housing projects; until this day, these neighborhoods are responsible for the perspective that drives DesignerFlow's artistry.
In 2010 DesignerFlow's brother DeShon Johnson was fatally gunned down in their grandmothers front yard; it was at this moment, he decided to dedicate himself to music to secure the futures of his children and make a way out of the streets for his loved ones. DesignerFlow then founded his boutique Record label, “Hoodstock Records” Serving not only as the CEO but the manager, A&R, executive producer and a songwriter. His versatility comes from an eclectic taste in music with inspirations ranging from Jay-Z and Tupac to Radiohead and The Flaming Lips. Beyond his braggadocios ability to rap and relatable songwriting, DesignerFlow is also a guitarist and vocalist.
He first appeared on the blogosphere in 2014 with his "Shoebox Money" effort, a sample driven medley of dark tales and street metaphors. since then he's released multiple efforts including two compilation projects from his label — "Hoodstockalypse" Vol. 1 and 2. DesignerFlow is revered as the gatekeeper and architect of the refreshed indie hip hop scene in Louisville, KY. Known for his melodic hooks, a repertoire of flows and gritty lyrics, DesignerFlow has began blazing trails with his unique sound and genuine lyrical content.
