A native from Detroit, Michigan, Detroit Red is the beginning of change. From prolific rhymes to vivid punch lines, Detroit Red is a narrator of life’s struggles and hard lessons and outlets of joy and pain. Detroit Red began his career at 3rd Rail Records in 1995, as both an emcee and producer. Contributing to the first independent release of the label in 1997, he made cameo appearances on several tracks while working on his own solo debut. Wanting to commit to the bigger picture of the success of the label, Detroit Red placed 3 albums on hold and contributed to the independently released Hip-Hop collaboration – 3rd Rail Records presents: The Affiliates, released in July 2005.
Fast forward to today, Detroit Red is making waves producing across several genres of music. Not completely letting go of his hip-hop roots, Detroit Red is continuing to bring heat for the listeners with collaborations with Foundation Mecca, Cleva Thoughts, Arch Bishop, Hajile, and Lnonymous.
