Devon Overbey

Devon Overbey is a 21-year old artist from sunny Southern California who writes melodic indie pop blended with flavorful hints of folk, r&b, hip hop, jazz, funk, & even classical. He tends to vary stylistically with every song he releases. His most popular release, “Alright” is an uplifting bedroom pop anthem that gently instills hope in listeners with dreamy harmonies & cascading chorus guitars. His indie rock single “Red Tide '' expresses escapism with distorted verse vocals reminiscent of The Arctic Monkeys & a smooth, vibrant chorus full of harmonies reflective of The Beatles & Beach Boys. Devon’s newer releases showcase significant stylistic progression & production evolution. “After it Rains” is an uplifting indie pop song co-produced by Dan Konopka of the Grammy award-winning band, OK Go.

Devon’s lyricism reflects his personality, with incredibly introspective & meaningful poetry that doesn’t shy away from comedic values & outright absurdity. His lyrics vary wildly from metaphorical to literal—even within the same song! His writings encompass the challenges of mental health, loneliness, & existentialism, but his reflections don’t always take themselves too seriously.

Beyond his music, Devon is an engineer at Harvey Mudd College who plans on starting a space company & advocates for the increased sustainability of the planet. He’s also an incredibly passionate landscape photographer who seeks to use his art to demonstrate the beauty of life, the planet, & the heavens.
