Breakout L.A. Indie/World instrumentalist Dewey Parker has an eclectic sound firmly rooted in deeply intuitive and imaginative tones and arrangements. Dewey’s sound in an amalgamation of psychedelia, Afro-influenced world beats, acoustic guitar riffs, playful pre-disco 70s bass and various drums and percussion (digital and live). Glistening fingered-picked acoustic guitar, chugging 70s baselines and entrancing atmospherics round out Dewey's sound. The debut EP features four 100% instrumentals tinged with nostalgia-driven chill vibes, uber-catchy hooks and hummable melodies. Parker’s style has that rare quality of sounding at once both comforting/familiar and otherworldly/exhilarating. He has been compared to indie-rockers like Beck, Cornershop and Wild Nothing and electronic instrumentalists like Caribou and Lemon Jelly. Dusted with a sheen of calm and cool, the tracks feel curiously timeless yet evergreen: like a pleasant dream or a familiar melody echoing down a corridor.
