Dexter Dub

Dexter Dub is a Cologne-based producer and remixer, who already is an active part of the Cologne music scene since mid of the nineties. The multi-instrumentalist has been member in numerous bands yet and still produces music using diffrent pseudonyms such as a.o.: <a href="spotify:artist:3xHPafKm8GIB6qGv6QseJu" data-name="Earth-Field">Earth-Field</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0gvdoDjOfvHj8rPmHO0aO4" data-name="F. Botze">F. Botze</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6i7pUjipIIPhB0qUBO4fGg" data-name="Graue Substanz">Graue Substanz</a> or <a href="spotify:artist:0XdAHKHr5ye5vELWzYfDVI" data-name="Gi-Shin Mission Changdarc">Gi-Shin Mission Changdarc</a>.

He also used to DJ for about 20 years and during that time he learned many things about music, crowd, people, life and met interesting people. Dexter Dub has been diggin through diffrent genres, such as: Dub, Dubstep, Trap, Jungle, Drum&#39;n&#39;Bass, Mash-Up, Hip Hop, Reggae, Dancehall, Big Beat, Electro, House, Soul, Funk, Disco, Beat, Jazz and World Music.

But he still wanted to know more about music and go deeper, so he studied musicology and linguistics at the University of Cologne. There he was introduced to the diverse styles of what one could call the roots of all electronic dance music or in general, the origin of electronic music.

Right now the artist Dexter Dub produces electronic music in varying styles, between Dub and Jungle/Drum’n’Bass. One thing is now and will be central in his actual productions: The love of Reggae in all of it’s kinds and his aim to translate the Reggae vibe into contemporary electronic/digital forms such as Dub, Dubstep, Deep Dub, Jungle, Drum‘n’Bass or whatever you name it.
