Deya's music aims to capture the sentiments of both the diaspora and younger generation of Bengalis living across the world. She weaves authenticity of classic Bengali as well as South Asian music into her work while bringing a modern, relatable sound. Her goal is to uplift the Bengali community by spreading the richness of Bangla music to all corners of the world.
Influences for her songs include her training in Jazz, Commercial, Western Classical, and Hindustani Classical voice. Furthermore, as a third culture kid, her music expresses the dichotomy of "belonging everywhere and nowhere". When spending time away from creating her own music, Deya illustrates and also teaches others how to sing.
