Diaspora Trio

We are a Chilean band that reinterprets the Arabic music of the Palestinian and Syrian diaspora. We present a contemporary Chilean-Arabic version of the music of the Middle East, music that has been kept alive through the oral tradition passed on from disciple to master until today.

About the members:

Victor Mahana is a renowned Chilean painter, composer and musical producer who has been linked to both visual arts and music, has developed soundtracks for film and TV and has 5 studio albums. Founder of Vfm and Duobit.

Christian Jamasmié is a famous singer of Arabic music in Chile, founding member of Al Qamar and Kanzaman, he has played in the most important stages of the country and South America.

Karim Hodali was a founding member of the mythical Chilean-Arabic band "Nagam" performing in Oud and Derbake more than 25 years ago.

Michel Cumsille is a Palestinian Chilean musician, singer and multi-instrumentalist, leader and vocalist of the mythical Nagam orchestra that shone in the 90's.
Currently lute player and singer in Diaspora trio and singer of Nagham Quartet.
