New album 'Oh Hedonism' OUT NOW and on tour!
Digital Carbs’ latest album 'Oh Hedonism' merges surreal imagery, social critique, and hypnotic song structures into a pull that oscillates between intimacy and loss of control. Is it daydreaming or an escape from reality when fish fly toward the sun and marmots bury you alive? Abysses on all sides – but at least with a view of glowing billboards.
The pre-release singles already offered a glimpse of what lies ahead: the sensational Head in the Clouds drifts between dream and dystopia, Win Some, Lose Some builds on a hypnotic foundation, while Say It Like You Mean It pushes forward with a disco beat and octaver bass. And it’s not only stylistically that the band experiments: for the first time, Oh Hedonism features trumpets, piano, and banjo. Yet everything blends into a cohesive whole that demonstrates what Digital Carbs stand for: intensity, a willingness to take risks, and songs that resist being pigeonholed.
Lyrically, Oh Hedonism mirrors our time: caught between palpable fragmentation, escalating crises, and the yearning for ecstasy, comfort, or sheer survival. The album title itself carries a double meaning: hedonism as the driving force of a selfish, fractured society – and at the same time as what keeps us going at all.
Oh Hedonism is raw, haunting, and above all: unmistakably Digital Carbs.
