Born and bred in Bulawayo, Delaney ‘Diliza’ Dondo comes from a family of five siblings. Christened by his father as Delaney as a tribute to Bob Dylan, Diliza’s talents were first discovered by brothers Mdu and Vusa Sibanda, who urged Diliza to join forces with Ndumiso ‘Nduza’ Majama, which culminated in the formation of the Kwaito duo ‘Olova’. It was the late Joe Maseko who further enhanced Diliza’s artistic talents by mentoring him to become a producer and sound engineer.
Possessing these newfound skills, Diliza moved to South Africa in 2009 where he was fortunate enough to have access to features of artists such as Alaska, Uhuru, Character, Spikiri, Tzozo and Black Motion to name a few. Diliza’s music is heavily influenced by giants such as Oskido and Professor. With names like that on his rolodex one can be sure to expect nothing but outstanding music from Diliza.
Talent scouted by Professor in 2016, Diliza is a member of the trailblazing trio ‘STIFF’ which has among its portfolio the hit single ‘Umcimbi’ as one of their signature offerings.
A pioneering founding Director of Progressive Records, Diliza, has been keeping a low profile in the music industry for over a decade, waiting to grace us with his vocal skills.
Diliza has released the following singles ‘Ngekabani Le Party’ ft Van Wyk (from the group STIFF) & Cowbway and ‘Ama Hormones ft Professor’. Diliza has featured on Professor’s new hit single ‘Patrek/Azvibhadari’ which is making waves around the globe.
