Diminished Empires is an atmospheric black metal solo project created by Kyle "Vhyle" Caldwell, an artist based out of Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The project was originally created in 2016 in Nashville, Tennessee. However, as of early 2021, Vhyle has relocated back to his home state of Georgia. The music from the project is portrayed as bleak atmospheric black metal, performed on fretless instruments. The stories told within the songs are tales of struggles with depression, illness, loss, grief, and the fragile nature of humanity.
