Dimitri Paile from Helsinki, Finland, cut his teeth playing various instruments in local punk bands, most notably drumming for post-punk outfit <a href="spotify:artist:5xBXPAkSreD9xAYlpGfzwU" data-name="Beastmilk">Beastmilk</a> (2010–2014). Soon after the band's demise, Paile teamed up with noise artist Tuukki (STROM.ec, Cloama, Stromberg) to create seductive synth tunes under the monicker <a href="spotify:artist:2ENGTuAanCzGGaV7VmMmVy" data-name="A Heart Beats">A Heart Beats</a>. The duo's debut single <a href="spotify:track:1e48bdNYYNsBi6Bv7v9ejY" data-name="Dazes the Mind">Dazes the Mind</a> was released in January 2020 via Svartronix, a sub-label of Svart Records.
As a composer and performer Dimitri Paile draws on a wide range of influences, including Russian romances, 1960's Americana, and Western art music.
