Dino Plasmati is a jazz guitarist, composer and Big Band conductor.
Born in Matera on 9th July 1972, he got the Bachelor of Arts in Modern Literature at the University of Bari and got his Diploma in guitar studies at the Conservatory “E.R Duni” in Matera. He started playing when he was 9 and in 1987 he founded his first band, called Meridiana Group. They were engaged on several tours all over Italy and Europe and recorded four CDs all with Dino’s original compositions and arrangements. Along his career, Dino played and collaborated with multiple Italian and foreign great musicians: Benny Golson, Randy Brecker, Bobby Watson, Vince Mendoza, Kurt Elling, Chris Potter, Michel Pilz, Bob Mover, Evan Parker, Steve Grossman, Jack Walrath, Jed Levy, Flavio Boltro, Michael Rosen, Israel Varela, Robert Bonisolo, Joe Magnarelli, Eric Wyatt, Brian Charette, P.Fresu, G.L.Trovesi, N.Stilo, Bruno Tommaso and many others. He teaches jazz guitar at CONSERVATORY of MUSIC “Gesulado da Venosa” (Potenza, Basilicata).
He has recorded more than 30 albums for labels such as Universal, EmArcy, Warner Music, Caligola Rec, Preludio, Alfa Music, Farelive, Angapp Music and others.
