dipper is the songwriting project of Ottawa-based folk musician Dylan Patrick Roy. Drawing on influences like <a href="spotify:artist:7gqsi6aBSkRMJoL9psKqMr" data-name="Bill Callahan">Bill Callahan</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4Sw0SFu1fFdYXdAEVdrqnO" data-name="Mount Eerie">Mount Eerie</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4aKWmkWAKviFlyvHYPTNQY" data-name="Adrianne Lenker">Adrianne Lenker</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:6lcwlkAjBPSKnFBZjjZFJs" data-name="Alex G">Alex G</a>, dipper’s quiet sound started with the debut EP dog park and continues with his new release Mind to Heal. He combines a lo-fi bedroom mood with introspective, humanistic lyrics about the ways we connect, the ways we fall away, the ways we grow, and sometimes the ways we don’t. Subtle arrangements and gentle guitarwork leave a comfortable space for sitting with thoughts, whatever they are.

dipper collaborates often with fellow Ottawa artist <a href="spotify:artist:3PN26R9mkbh4aIcGWYVP3I" data-name="Robin Kenny">Robin Kenny</a> and production company Monscene. He is a founding member of both the folk rock band Jackrabbits and the experimental dark folk project <a href="spotify:artist:5lrS62Ul8RTOeKwfB7ITYi" data-name="Adelaide of the Pasture">Adelaide of the Pasture</a>.
