He has been the frontman of Indian progressive rock band Addiction and Ambient Folk-fusion band FolkTantra. He has his own solo line up called Diptendu Roy Live. He is now working freelance and as a session singer. Diptendu Roy once assisted National Award Winning music director Mayookh Bhaumik. He has given his voice for the background score of Tollywood Movie "Force". Diptendu has also sung the Title track of Star Jalsha Mega Serial, "Gaatchora". Diptendu is on Zee Bangla Saregamapa 2022.
