Solo singer/songwriter Dirk Scarlett first got into music when, aged 17, he was tricked into auditioning for a local band. Lightning struck (literally - badly wired homemade pa) & from that moment on music was his passion, his life - his raison d'être. 'Any music as long as it's good music' is his mantra and he eschews any attempt at pigeonholing or genre locking. Influences are wide and varied & run the full gammet from rock to dance via country and always, always ending right back up in good old fashioned pop. Overtly catchy hooks with carefully chosen words are his forte & his ability to make entertaining & awe inspiring videos armed with little more than a big green sheet, an old iPhone & a lot of determination are legendary. Every song he writes is auto-biographical in some measure. A consummate entertainer, he regards himself as a storyteller with a guitar. All of his guitars have names.
