Dirty Linen is the latest project from acclaimed music producer and mastering engineer Allen T., whose career has shaped the sounds of hundreds of independent artists. Dirty Linen marks a new chapter, driven by Allen’s hunger to return to the rawness of rock after years immersed in electronic music. His journey began in 1994 with the alt-rock group Chlorine, whose single release, Bend and Peel, became an underground favorite. This was followed by Chemical City, a gritty heavy-rock outfit that saw success with multiple singles on indie labels.
In 2008, Allen shifted his focus from guitar to synthesizer, launching a critically celebrated solo career that culminated in the 2023 club hit Velvet Disco. Reflecting on his latest work, Allen shared, “I feel like I’ve done everything I set out to do in electronic music. Now, it’s time to return to something more organic. I want to play ‘real’ instruments—I want to bang on drums with my own hands.”
Dirty Linen’s debut single is slated for release on November 22, with a string of tracks lined up through 2024 and into 2025. Allen’s creative momentum shows no sign of slowing: “I’m writing more music now than I have in the past 15 years. I’m not sure exactly where it’s all headed, but I’m loving the direction.”
Looking to 2025 and beyond, Dirty Linen is set to release two albums, alongside Allen’s upcoming electronic production—a bold venture into a new era of sound and storytelling.
