Forming after realising a shared passion for broken rhythms and a desire to express feelings of discontent through rave music, Bristol-based duo Disaffected are quickly establishing a formidable reputation for their high-energy, emotionally charged DJ sets.
The duo's alias harks back to the zeitgeist of the UK rave scene of 88-94; A generation of youth vying to find an outlet for the rudimentary emotions suppressed by a socio-political landscape that is hellbent on individualism rather than unity. Their production and DJ sets are guided by a mission to renew life to this space.
Disaffected's music spans euphoria-driven breakbeat, heavy garage grooves and spellbinding electro, released on a multitude of labels that propagate their infectious energy, including ec2a, Rinse and Sable Valley. Their SoundCloud hosts a vast swathe of bootlegs of club classics, including the duo's prodigious spin on Tessela's Hackney Parrot.
Since their debut set at their infamous party, Chop Shop, in 2019, Disaffected have continued to entrance ravers across their home city of Bristol and beyond.
