Disco Volante (the original Disco Volante) was established in London in the early 1980s by songwriter and producer Terry Tanx, initially Disco Volante played live in small weekly art and music gatherings in London.
Disco Volante aim to produce electronic pop music and main influences range from Marc Bolan, David Bowie Soft Cell, Siouxsie and the Banshees to modern house, trance and techno.
The first single by Disco Volante was No Motion released in 1984 on Catalyst Box records, whilst not being commercially successful No Motion has become a collectable example of minimal electronic pop music from that era, demand for the single was such that it was rereleased in 2012 by Medical Records.
Since 2015 Disco Volante have released a string of new tracks taking advantage of the benefits of music streaming services. The next track to be release will be Whisper on 12th May 2023, a evocative synthwave style track influenced by the legendary film music compose John Barry.
