Distansorkestern is made up of musicians who have known each other for decades, though life has scattered them across Sweden. With families, jobs, and an abundance of dogs, getting together for a physical rehearsal is as elusive as catching a butterfly in a storm. Yet, they formed a band.
Johan Eriksson Rapp is a composer and guitarist with a PhD in composition from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (2020). Under the name Automatism, he has performed at festivals across Europe and lectured at MIT and other renowned institutions. As a guitarist, he has played with <a href="spotify:artist:5OTL36ekEA617Gj1ujshzB" data-name="Ensemble Krock">Ensemble Krock</a> and premiered works by composers such as Joe Cutler and Gabriel Prokofiev. From 2018 to 2023, he released 34 EPs under the alias <a href="spotify:artist:28COj84KB3mitRVXZkNW4N" data-name="Rand Aldo">Rand Aldo</a>.
Anders Teglund is a pianist and writer, formerly with <a href="spotify:artist:7E7fJJpdVgr1F3pfAfRtHe" data-name="Cult Of Luna">Cult Of Luna</a>. His work explores limitations and the role of music in everyday life. His 2019 solo debut, <a href="spotify:album:6BB6MatvE0uu9JDcDjFlCu" data-name="Björkris I">Björkris I</a>, focused on daily life in a rented apartment, shaping his artistic trajectory.
