Distilling Pain was an progressive extreme metal act from Santiago de Compostela (Spain), formed in 2007 by Xabier Alonso (Guitarr), Alberto Veiga (Guitars) and Yova Turnes (Vocals). Carlos Pensado joined later as Drummer and different bass players played for the band: Edu Cadenas, Isma, Alipio, and finally Alberto Quintía.
They released two albums, the first one "Irrational Statements" (2010) was a more obscure, black metal oriented work, while the second one, "The Silent Collapse" (2014) has a melodic death vibe. Their unique style was critically acclaimed and although not too active in the live scene, well received by the public too.
They splitted up in 2015, after non being able to replace their drummer, who left in 2014.
