Distortion Ride

Distortion Ride is a hard rock / psychedelic / progressive power trio formed in 2014 at Toulouse, France.

The band pours out all its emotions into its music and aims to create a deep bond with the listener.

The band formed after a jam session in a rehearsal studio and released its first EP in 2017, followed by several shows.

The three members play and write music without trying to fit into any specific musical style, however some aspects are frequently found in their music : alternation between soft and heavy parts, bluesy riffs, catchy choruses, odd time signatures, melancholic melodies and expressive guitar solos.

Matt’s lyrics are centered on subjects like the feeling of inadequacy in the world, the ecosystem’s destruction (climate crisis, solastalgia) and the search for some kind of spirituality.

Live, Distortion Ride plays neither with a click nor backing tracks and keeps some moments for improvisation.
