Distresser - comprising vocalist Jere Haarala, guitarists Samuli Suhonen and Joni Törmälehto, bassist Lauri Smolander and drummer Mika Kakko - the five-piece from Northern Finland aim to bring out their unique sounding blend of heavy tuned melodic deathcore and metalcore, that includes tight rhythms, airy harmonies, haunting ambience and thought-provoking lyrics.
Formed at the end of 2021, the group found themselves living in the times of isolation and fear. With desperation over the state of the world, the constant feeling of uncertainty, followed by personal losses and grief, the members of the band started working tirelessly to reach their goal of releasing their own music. The previously mentioned conditions and emotions seeped into the sound and themes of Distresser and now beat heavily in the heart of their music.
