Divide by Zero began in a familiar setting for many punk bands—a dark, musty basement where three college friends gathered to play music and unwind. What started as casual jamming (and an excuse to day drink) quickly turned into a weekly ritual.
The trio’s turning came when playing at a raucous frat party, where the crowd’s demand for “Stacy’s Mom” and unexpected moshing turned a fun night into a defining moment. Realizing they had something special, Divide by Zero decided to take their music seriously and officially become a band.
Fast forward to 2020, this New York-based ensemble joined forces with producer Cody Okonski (best known for being the front-man of Millington) to unleash their debut studio EP, "Quarantine Happy Hour."
Building on their success, Divide by Zero joined forces with producer and renowned YouTube personality Christopher Escalante. Following their debut EP, the band collaborated with Chris on a cover of Olivia Rodrigo's "good 4 u" and an original pop-punk anthem titled "You Know I'm Not Sorry." In a defining moment, Chris (Vocals, Guitar, Trombone) officially became a member of the band in 2023.
Now, in early 2024, Divide by Zero has unveiled their fiercest creation yet. "Sure as Hell" emerges as the band's inaugural political anthem, drawing inspiration from the influential sounds of Green Day and the ska vibes of Jaya The Cat.
