DIZZY!

Hello, we are DIZZY!, an alternative pop funk band from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that is now based in New Orleans!

Hi my name is Izzy! I play piano and sing in DIZZY! I am 20 years old, and I am a Popular and Commercial Music Major at Loyola University in New Orleans. I have been in drama clubs, musical choirs, and a variety of bands growing up, and I have also taken music lessons since about 3rd grade. I am heavily inspired by artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:5rwUYLyUq8gBsVaOUcUxpE" data-name="Lawrence">Lawrence</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0NB5HROxc8dDBXpkIi1v3d" data-name="Remi Wolf">Remi Wolf</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:2a4lU7F8toqKpb5v6Ftqya" data-name="Theo Katzman">Theo Katzman</a>.

Hi my name is David! I play guitar and sing in DIZZY! I am 25 years old, and I used to be a math major, but because of COVID (and other things), I dropped out of school and became a manager at Baton Rouge Music Studios (BRMS). After a few years, I joined Izz in college at Loyola. We started performing together about 10 years ago in Baton Rouge, starting at BRMS. We were always told we sounded good together by our friends and family, so we decided to start gigging together. I’ve always had a pretty high-pitched voice, so some of my biggest inspirations are <a href="spotify:artist:1dfeR4HaWDbWqFHLkxsg1d" data-name="Queen">Queen</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7guDJrEfX3qb6FEbdPA5qi" data-name="Stevie Wonder">Stevie Wonder</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:7pXu47GoqSYRajmBCjxdD6" data-name="Vulfpeck">Vulfpeck</a>.

Our debut single “Mess” came out January 17th, 2025. It is a fiery introduction to our EP “Hot Mess,” which released on February 7th. When songwriting, David and I like to turn heavy topics into lighthearted, energetic music. “Mess” was inspired by a toxic relationship, but we decided to put our spin on it to make it funky.
