DJ AVEE is a DJ and producer from the innermost fjords of Hardanger, Norway – the village of Eidfjord, where he grew up in a house right by the shoreline, only metres from the sea.
He started his career at just fourteen years old, building his own disco lights and ordering vinyl records by mail. Performing at local hotels around Hardanger, he carried heavy crates of records wherever he went – always chasing the newest music. In the late ’80s, music wasn’t easy to come by; you couldn’t just buy it anywhere. He recorded songs from the radio onto cassette tapes, playing them over and over until they wore out. When they broke, he repaired them with nail polish – living with the brief silence each time the splice passed through the player.
Several times throughout his career’s ups and downs, he sold his vinyl collection – only to rebuild it again.
In 2026, forty years after he first began, he released his own material: Baila sin parar. Rooted in the sound his fans back home call “atle-music” – his signature take on eurodance – the track brings something new: a Latin touch, blending English and Spanish into a fresh, energetic mix.
