Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, DJ Battleaxe returns more than 20 years later with a children’s album.

Pandering to kids simply for financial gain, “Super Hits 2.0” blends DJ Battleaxe’s classic London electronic dance club beats with obtuse kid-friendly messages about eating healthy, self-confidence, and making friends. Battleaxe’s self-described “Now-Skool” sound made him a pioneer and visionary within the novelty techno genre, despite an uncanny ignorance about children.

His unlikely return to the limelight came about when a handful of his hardcore fans crowdfunded nearly $500 (US) to pay his legal fees and produce his latest record for free. While staying at his mum’s flat outside of London, Battleaxe sent tracks back and forth with top music producers all over the world, including Sandusky, Ohio and Modesto, California.

DJ Battleaxe rose in the London underground scene during the early 90’s after his debut indie album “Who is DJ Battleaxe?”, which was an unlikely dance club success despite its needless vulgarity and self-aggrandizing lyrics.

Shrouded in mystery, the enigmatic DJ Battlexe continues to keep his identity a secret and performs solely as an outdated avatar, donning his signature blonde mohawk and sock/sandal combo.
