Dj Chuck-E
DJ, Producer, and Pioneer of Melbourne's Underground Dance Scene
From an early age, Dj Chuck-E was immersed in music, learning to play piano, drums, and guitar by the age of 8. Growing up with a father who's passion was music, it was always at the forefront.
At 14, Chuck-E was already diving deep into the world of DJing. Armed with a second-hand record player, a two-channel mixer, and a tape deck, taught himself the art of mixing. By 16, he built up to a set of Technics 1200s and began perfecting the art of beatmatching—skills that would set the foundation for his future DJ career.
By the time he was 18, Chuck-E played his first warehouse gig, marking the beginning of what would become an influential career in Melbourne's vibrant dance music scene. Over the next few years, he earned a reputation and worked his way up the DJ ranks, playing at some of Melbourne's largest nightclubs and dance parties. Notable highlights include performances at iconic festivals such as Welcome 2000, Two Tribes, and Kryal Castle, alongside international legends like Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Adam Beyer, and The Freestylers, to name just a few.
He was instrumental in hosting and playing at some of the city's most memorable underground parties, including Text Book Acid, Filter, Alkaline, and Red Heads, as well as weekly nights at venues like Seven Nightclub. Through his work, he fostered a passionate following of fans dedicated to the sounds of acid house, techno, and rave culture.
