Coming from a musical family, Joshua Lott, better known as DJ Deadshot, began to gravitate towards everything music at a young age.

“I was always beating on the couch cushions with wooden spoons, thinking I was Guy Patterson from That Thing You Do!”

From his middle school days, he was known as JLo. “Some of my friends still call me that today”
Wearing a shirt that said “JLo” on the back and playing in a pickup basketball game, the “J” rubbed off and looked like a “G”

So the rap name “GLo” was born.

“I started making parody songs about my friends and having album releases. The recording process was sound recorded on my Windows XP with a USB mic. Then we just doubled the recording if we wanted to layer it. Those were the glory days.”

“Music has always been in my DNA. We used to play this game where I could name a song by less than a second of play. Even if it was the live. I could tell by the crowd. I started to have melodies in my head that I couldn’t shake”

“I can’t really play an instrument. It’s the beauty of AI for me. I know the melody and I can sing the key or hum it but, I’ve never had that ability to play anything other than a few chords on a guitar. I can rap, write and have good vocabulary to pull from. It’s like I’ve been missing the one ingredient to make a great cake. AI has become that final ingredient.”

Getting tired of copyright issues with music in gaming videos, Josh set out to make his own gaming music. DJ Deadshot was born
