DJ Harrison is an artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist.
As the chief of Jellowstone Records, DJ Harrison runs the recording studio and record label based in Richmond, VA, where much of his music has come to life. He's released several albums as a solo artist, spanning genres such as jazz, funk, soul, R&B, hip-hop and rock – to name a few. His vast catalog showcases his diverse talents while displaying deep reverence for the legacy of Black American Music. Three of his albums were released on the LA label Stones Throw: HazyMoods (2017), Tales from the Old Dominion (2021) and his covers album Shades of Yesterday (2024) – the latter two LPs were co-signed by Tyler, The Creator.
Not only known for his solo work, DJ Harrison has produced for artists such as Phonte, Steve Arrington, Nubya Garcia, Pink Siifu, B. Cool Aid, Joyce Wrice and most recently Yaya Bey; he has contributed to music for artists including Jack White, Natalie Prass, Sherman Holmes and Kurt Elling (receiving a GRAMMY nomination), and he is also an active member of the hip-hop, jazz-fusion group Butcher Brown, who recently released Letters from the Atlantic. DJ Harrison's new album ElectroSoul is out in January on Stones Throw. It's his most collaborative LP yet, featuring many musicians from his community & beyond including Yazmin Lacey, Fly Anakin, Angélica Garcia & Kiefer .
