Although the New Orleans Native began honing his craft while in High school making mixtapes for classmates, it wasn't until 2002 that his hard work and dedication landed him a residency with the House of Blues in New Orleans which gained him access to work with popular acts such as “L.L. Cool J”, “Common”, “Snoop Dogg,” “Robin Thicke”, “Doug E. Fresh,” “Black Eyed Peas” ,“Pharrell,” and many, more.
The following year he began touring across America with multiplatinum artist B.G. Which then led him to producing one of his highly rated mixtapes "Built to Last".
Hektik also works with other New Orleans Natives such as Hot Boy Turk, Dee-1 along with a host of others.
He has also worked as a mixshow Dj on stations such as V103.3 (Atlanta) to BDAY 95.1 (Jack Miss) WQUE Q93 (N.O.), KNOU Hot 104.5 (N.O.) WYLD Fm 98 (N.O) and recently Hip Hop Nation Ch 44 with Dj Scream.
Currently Dj Hektik has many mixtape series that he drops monthly to use as an outlet for breaking in the new sounds coming from Hip Hop artist out of the 504.
