Jamaal "DJ Kobe" Gardner is a notable DJ and host for his FG Radio show. His career as a DJ began in 2005 for local house and graduation parties around the city of Pontiac. From there, he started "Shameless Plug Tuesdays" eclectically keeping fans updated with a mixture the hottest music of 2009.
Soon after graduating from Spec's Howard School of Media Arts, Kobe interned at 88.3 FM WXOU, co-hosted various shows and podcast, and provided weekly mixes. In 2012 DJ Kobe created and became CEO of FG Radio: an urban radio show with a unique flavor.
With a fanbase tuning in from all over the globe, FG Radio provides podcasts, interviews, and visuals with various artists including Killa Mike, DJ Southanbred, Frenchie from Brick Squad, producer Dae One, and Detroit's very own Dej Loaf.
DJ Kobe currently has returned to 88.3 FM WXOU, now broadcasting his own segment of FG Radio every Friday afternoon at 5pm. Notably, DJ Kobe has also DJ'ed for Juicy J's “Stay Trippy and Never Sober Tour” along with various up and coming artists through out the Detroit area.
With the recent release of his very on compilation project “All Things Considered”, DJ Kobe is not only looking to further cement his status as a DJ, but also as a versatile producer, engineer, and songwriter as well.
With a resume this complete, DJ Kobe has his sights on progressing the sound of his city not only to his state, but across the world. This is only the beginning.
