DJ Kwame

Born and raised in the then dusty streets of Ivory Park located in Midrand, Kwame Nkrumah Mahlanga was born on the 24th of September 1990. DJ Kwame is an Afrotech music DJ and producer, he fuses different musical sounds to create a unique build of quality sounds fused with smooth vocals and packed to fit the Afrotech genre and enjoyed by all music lovers.

Growing up he was influenced by the like of the legendary late Fana Khaba (Khabzela), DJ Monde and later he was exposed to DJs such as Fizta Mixwell, Tarrence, Glen Lewis, Oskido, Claude and Mbuso. His love for house music grows as he listened to Y-FM and to compilations such as Club Y sessions presented by DJ Fresh.

In 2015 he released his first set of mixtapes known as “House Davotions” which got him the exposure as a mix DJ, he has played around South African and cross broader in Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana. DJ Kwame is more than an individual that just plays music, he is an artist that aims to speak to people’s souls through the language of music.
