DJ Switch, hailing from a b-boy background with international renowned crew 021STATIC B-Boys, gave him exposure to see the world at large, leading to his interest in becoming a DJ.
Now years later, from sharing the stage as a DJ with SA legends like READY D, Dj Fresh and Dj Sbu to name a few, to featuring as DJ for award winning hiphop outfit Jozi, Switch is now also an event promoter, TV and radio presenter, MC, young entrepreneur, the list goes on and on.
Morgan van Staden a.k.a. DJ SWITCH made his first TV appearance in 2004 as the DJ on YOTV’s Wildroom, and has since become one of those DJ’s who knows how to entertain a crowd. With 5 years TV experience and 10 years in the DJ business under this belt, SWITCH is now taking the South African nightlife scene by storm.
Switch was also approached by hiphop group Teargas to do their mixtape for their SAMA Award winning album WAFA WAFA, which they clinched at the 2009 MTN SAMA awards.
Having featured as a DJ for JOZI, DA L.E.S, LOYISO, Psyfo and Danny K in 2009 alone, in addition to being an ambassador and opinion advisor for top urban brands.
From humble beginnings in Atlantis, which exposed him to various sounds, musically there is no genre this Cape Town local can’t play but his specialties include Hip-Hop, Ragga, House, Jazz, Kwaito and various genres.
