DJ WhySham

DJ WhySham who is often referred to as “Your Community DJ” is a self taught DJ, 2x Boston Music Award nominee, visionary, activist, creative entrepreneur, avid traveler, sister and God-parent. She is also the official DJ for Brandie Blaze and CakeSwagg. Inspired by the likes of Dr. Dre and DJ Khaled’s artist compilations, DJ WhySham is aiming to push the envelope of the Boston music scene with the release of #Finally.

The goal is to let the world know Boston Got Next figuratively and literally! The majority of the project was recorded at her new studio of the same name (Boston Got Next Entertainment) located within the Dorchester Art Project. It features ten carefully selected tracks introduced with the voice of Boston Producer Abstract Minor "DJ WhySham, From the 617 to Your BackYard". The project also features a robust line up of features ranging from fellow 2020 Boston Music Award nominee Brandie Blaze, Marcela Cruz, Eva Davenport, 2019 Boston Poet Laureate Porsha Olayiwola and many more!

Her background in criminal justice, communication and community outreach has led her to merge her artistry as a DJ with an effort to make positive changes and provide adequate resources in disenfranchised communities in Boston. DJ WhySham believes in bringing music, hardship, and pain together while creating events as a release for collective trauma.
