DJ.D was born and raised on the Southside of Houston, Texas.
Born as De’Kori Lawson, he is the second of 3 children. DJD’s first encounter with music
took place at the age of 11. Since the beginning of his career he has added many levels to his game.
He is noted as being one of the greatest MixTape Djs in Houston’s Rap history.
Constantly being compared to Houston’s late great DJ Screw, DJ.D was chosen to mix the last credited album for the Houston Legend ( DJ Screw ) titled
“ DJ Screw “ The Legend “
Throughout DJ.D’S career he has remixed over 290 complete albums for some of the South’s biggest artist. Most of his popular national screwed releases are from
Rap-A-Lot Records
including artist such as
Scarface , Tela , Pimp C , Bushwick Bill , The Geto Boys , Devin ,Yukmouth , Dirty , The 5th Ward Boys
and many more.
DJ.D has also mixed over 300 self titled mixtapes/cds.
On October 15, 2002 DJ.D released his first solo album
DJ.D “ Tha WorldWide Playa “
which was put on the market by his own Independent Label

This release has sold thousands of units becoming a Houston street classic. DJ.D’s second Solo album
DJ.D “ Field of Dreams “
was released in the Summer of 2015.
The H-Town Legend is currently getting prepared to release his 3rd solo album
DJ.D “ Exclusive Masters “
Besides being an icon on the Houston streets , DJ.D is a graduate of Texas Southern University with a B.A. Degree in Mass Communications ( Radio/TV/Film )
