Doctor Fish

“Look at that old fool up there on the stage. Who the hell does he think he is? Must be from a different age.” So begins the self-proclaimed Last Troubadour, singer-songwriter Doctor Fish, in the title song from his Renaissance Records debut of the same name.

No fake retro act, Doctor Fish is one of the last authentic purveyors of a folk-rock style that blossomed in the 1970s with artists like <a href="spotify:artist:0vn7UBvSQECKJm2817Yf1P" data-name="James Taylor">James Taylor</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:08F3Y3SctIlsOEmKd6dnH8" data-name="Yusuf / Cat Stevens">Yusuf / Cat Stevens</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:1R6Hx1tJ2VOUyodEpC12xM" data-name="Jim Croce">Jim Croce</a>. His music reveals a particular affinity to that of <a href="spotify:artist:42q4Ivs7tAiCZ5C7eG5q4c" data-name="Harry Chapin">Harry Chapin</a>. The late singer-songwriter even inspired one of Fish’s most popular numbers, “Harry Chapin (Every Monday Night).”
