Doe Paoro is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans music, visual art, and ritual. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, she studied Lhamo, a Tibetan operatic tradition, in the Himalayas, where she refined her connection to her voice.

Born in Syracuse, New York, snowbound winters initiated her into early seasons of interiority, where she cultivated an existential connection to songwriting. Her music reflects this inner landscape through an eclectic blend of pop, vintage soul, ambient textures, dubstep, and R&B.

Her debut album, Slow to Love, received early acclaim for its raw vulnerability. She followed with After, produced in collaboration with Bon Iver’s creative circle, and Soft Power, recorded live to tape in London with Grammy-winning producer Jimmy Hogarth (Amy Winehouse, Sia). Over the years, she has toured internationally and collaborated with artists including the Gipsy Kings, RAC, Bon Iver, Peter Bjorn & John, and KT Tunstall.

Described by Stereogum as “raw, sensual music from outer space,” Paoro’s work lives at the intersection of prayer and provocation—an invitation to "stay with the trouble" (to borrow from Urusula Leguin) and seed the more beautiful worlds our hearts know are possible.

In 2025, she returns with her long-awaited and luminous fourth album. Created between Los Angeles and Costa Rica, the songs form a bridge between worlds, carrying the vitality of the more-than-human and the echoes of a dying empire—elegies and invocations both.
