Doğuş Kökarttı is an Istanbul-based, versatile musician. He believes in experience. For this reason, he also experiences being a backpacker, poet, mindfulness coach, TED speaker, and medical doctor.
He likes to connect his extractions of this diverse spectrum of experiences into songwriting. Besides, he finds the songwriting is one of the best ways of storytelling and expressing the unique essence of our souls. In his words, the way he connects with the music is “connecting with the essence of life, finding the deep and pure light.”
His unique journey in music started by playing violin and guitar at an early ages. Then, it evolved into singing and songwriting in the following years. At first, he started a band called “Çatıkatı” in Kadıköy, Istanbul in 2013 where he was the lead vocal, acoustic guitarist. Later, other bands followed it.
In 2017, he deepened his experience of creating lyrics by being selected for a special workshop where he worked with Harun Tekin, Mor ve Ötesi.
His first single, Geven published in 2021.
In his words, the genre of his music is “somewhere around Indie Rock- Folk". Sometimes it also includes progressive, mystic parts, and acoustic tones too.
He published two poetry books called “Nehir Yolcusu”, “Üzüm Dalları, Güneş ve Güz”. So far, he’s officially given three TED talks, and traveled to 38 countries by backpacking. Currently, he continues working as a medical doctor and mindfulness coach to create healing and growth in the world.
