Dol is equally inspired by road movies and travel books, science fiction and psychedelia, celestial jazz and early folk and blues records. Their name is short for dolina, which means valley in Serbian. There are many towns that have Dol in their name in Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia and Slovenia.
The band released its debut album in November 2016 and it featured Bosko Mijuskovic on drums, Milos Pajagic on bass and Vukasin Djelic on guitar, synth and vocals. On their first, they collaborated with the saxophonist Jamal Al Kiswani ( Belgrade Yard Soundsystem ) and vocalist Suzana Sumrah ( Halftones ). The songs on the album range from short improvised pieces to mantric pop, punk jazz and avant-rock.
Group recorded their second release, an EP with five instrumental songs that feature double drumming, lush and swirling repetative guitars and grooving minimal bass lines. Dol are Dragan Jovanovic on drums, Milos Pajagic on bass, Dusan Zica on guitar & synth and Vukasin Djelic on guitar, synth and vocals.
