Los Angeles Based Dolores Scozzesi, known for her eclectic musical taste, unique contralto voice and masterful ability to connect with the essence of a song, has garnered rave reviews throughout her career. Jonathan Widran of Jazziz writes “Dolores Scozzesi makes a case for creating a national breakout for her deeply inviting and elegant voice and crafty phrasing.” And Jazz Historian W. Roy Stokes writes, “An intuitive passionate voice that snaps from molten serenity to predatory growl in a single phrase.” She has performed in New York, Paris and Los Angeles where she is a crowd favorite at clubs such as Vitello’s, Catalina’s, Pangea’s & The Write off Room.

She’s about to release a new single, the iconic “You Don’t Know What Love is” written by Don Raye and Gene de Paul. Scozzesi works with the cream of Los Angeles crop; jazz musicians, Gary Fukushima, Lyman Mederios, Rich Eames, Quinn Johnson and Andy Langham, Gabe Davis & Dori Amarilio, among many others. She has made the cover of The Los Angeles Jazz Scene and in 2021 received the prestigious JEXA Award for her contributions to jazz by creating the monthly Jazz Jam at the Gardenia. She’s appearing at the Write-Off Room on Oct. 14.
