He writes the sheet music for all the instruments and sings all the vocal parts. He writes the lyrics exploring the depths of his own experiences and produces the songs himself, from the first note and sometimes to the final mastering.
Don Jio's compositions reflect echoes of 80s and 90s pop mixed with the nostalgic essence of blues and jazz. The piano has been his best friend since childhood. He sang in classical choirs and he studied harmony. Don Jio is a passionate traveler, often in South Asia and in Latin America, he is a fearless explorer of musical realms.
Don Jio spent years collaborating with DJs, singing and producing electronic music. The next musical step was an electronic pop music duo project, Lunatiq Phase, which opened up more space for creativity and freedom of composition.
After a few years, determined to embrace a more intimate and personal expression, Don Jio embarked on his solo journey, dedicating himself to the depth and simplicity of love songs written on the piano and delivered through his raw voice, simplifying his style to a core of acoustic instruments.
